Warnings and Cautions:

While the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor is suitable for most diabetics, there are some cases when you might want to avoid using it. These include:

  • MRI, CT Scans, and Diathermy: If you plan to have any scans, such as CT and MRI, you should remove the sensor as they can cause inaccurate readings. Please let your healthcare provider know if you use the sensor.
  • Hypoglycemia: While the system can sometimes identify hypoglycemia, it might not alert people with hypoglycemic unawareness.
  • Damaged Components: Please don't use the sensor if the kit or packaging is damaged.

Precautions

If an individual is on dialysis or classified as critically ill, the system might not provide accurate readings. The same is true for pacemakers and other implanted medical devices.

If you frequently use high amounts of Vitamin C, it can impact your readings. Most importantly, remember to consult with your healthcare professional before using the Libre 2 Plus sensor.

How to Use:

Using the sensor is simple, and you just have to follow these steps:

  • Application Site: Prepare the back of your upper arm by ensuring your skin is clean and dry, and try to apply it to an area without moles or scars.
  • Apply the Sensor: Use the applicator to apply your sensor - which will click into place.
  • Start the App: Open the FreeStyle LibreLink app on your smartphone and scan the sensor to activate it. Your levels will be scanned and updated immediately once the device is activated.
  • Set Alarms: You can use the app to set alarms.
  • Replace: Wear the sensor for up to 15 days, then peel it off and dispose of it. You can then apply a new sensor.
