  • Product Details

    Maloff Protect is a once-daily antimalarial tablet for adults travelling to areas where malaria is present and available to buy without a prescription.

    Malaria is spread through the bite of an infected mosquito when the parasite (Plasmodium falciparum) enters the bloodstream.

    No antimalarial is 100% effective but to help reduce your risk, take Maloff Protect exactly as directed and use it alongside mosquito bite protection.

  • How To Use

    Please read the leaflet enclosed in the pack carefully before use.

    How to take, adults over 18 years only:

    Take one tablet once a day at the same time each day with food or milky drink where possible
    Start taking Maloff Protect 1 to 2 days before travel.
    Continue taking Maloff Protect every day during your stay and for another 7 days after you return.
    For oral use only.
    If you are sick (vomit) within 1 hour of taking Maloff Protect, take another dose as soon as possible. Then speak to a pharmacist or doctor for advice.

    Do not take more than the recommended dose.

    Not suitable for children or adolescents under 18 unless prescribed by a doctor.

  • Safety Information

    This is a medicine. Always take Maloff Protect exactly as advised.

    Each film-coated tablet contains:
    250mg Atovaquone and 100mg Proguanil hydrochloride

    Do not take Maloff Protect if you:

    Are allergic to atovaquone, proguanil hydrochloride, or any of the other ingredients (see leaflet)
    Are under 18 years old
    Weigh less than 40kg
    Consult a healthcare professional before using Maloff Protect if you:

    Are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding
    Have kidney or liver problems
    Have epilepsy, a history of seizures, or depression
    Are receiving treatment for tuberculosis (TB)
    Have any underlying medical conditions or are taking other medicines or supplements
    Important:
    Always read the leaflet before use.
    Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children.

  • Ingredients

    Atovaquone 250mg and proguanil hydrochloride 100mg per tablet. Other ingredients include poloxamer 188, microcrystalline cellulose, low-substituted hydroxypropyl cellulose, povidone K30, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate; film-coat: hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E171), iron oxide red (E172), macrogol 400 and macrogol 8000.
